What is Video Game Radio?
Welcome to the 24/7 Video Game Radio Music Live Stream! Streaming only the best video game music live 24 hours a day! Feel free to listen to the music or hang out in chat. Or both! =)
What music is played?
At the moment, only high quality video game music hand picked by me is being played in the playlist. I prefer quality over quantity, in terms of music - that's why there are only ~9000 songs being played here right now (and not 100,000 random remixes or covers). I have tried my hardest to make a diverse and phenomenal playlist to play music from. More songs are getting added frequently, so stay tuned !
Some neat features of Video Game Radio;
• Very high audio quality, always at least 320 kbit/s or higher (usually streamed from uncompressed .FLAC). Much higher quality than normal radio or the usual music streams.
• Carefully handpicked game songs from the official soundtrack (no covers, arrangements, remixes etc.) unless it's an official arrangement from the game creator themselves.
• Live song requests in the chat for Members and Patrons!
• A fully fledged chatbot with many convenient and fun features! Use !day in chat to get started with RP-collecting!
• Multi-streamed across the major streaming platforms (YouTube.com, Twitch.tv)!
• Active and respectful chat interaction between viewers!
I want to request a song or soundtrack to be added to the playlist!
It's easy! To request a game song or soundtrack that you think should be added to the Video Game Radio playlist, simply go to my Discord server and, after you've read the pinned comments carefully, type in the game song or OST (name of the game) in the chat in the channel #song-requests-VGR! Make sure that the song or soundtrack has not been added already!
How do you afford keeping this stream up for so long?
The stream is exclusively supported by your donations! How do I earn XP?

At the beginning you have 4 main ways to earn XP:
-
Type !day every 23 hours for 1000 XP!
-
Participate in boss battles every 30 minutes by typing !boss, where you get an opportunity to defeat the boss and win XP! You have 2 minutes to join the boss once the arena opens, after which the results appear!

Bet between 1 and 2000 XP every hour by typing !raid (amount of XP to wager), where you may win back your bet plus an extra 125%! Similar to boss, you have 2 minutes to join after which the raid results will appear!

As you gain more XP and earn certain ranks (shown below) you can unlock more commands to use and earn even more XP!
No specific benefits. Access to some default commands like !info, !rank, !day, !boss, and !rankreq.

F.A.Q:
Why do I need to pay (be a Member or Patron) to use song requests in chat?
There are two primary reasons:

By limiting song requests by a small paywall the quality of song requests are ensured to be much higher than if anyone could just join in and request any troll song. It also reduces the chance of someone getting around the system and requesting as many songs as they please ruining the experience for everyone else.

Hosting the stream costs money, since I need to pay for the electricity, internet connection and also hardware upgrades and maintenance. Not to speak of the time required to make sure it's all up to date with new features. Since YouTube instantly claims my streams as "not suitable for advertisers", I earn nothing in terms of ad-revenue from Pokémon Radio. Donations are what keeps the stream alive!

How do I become a moderator?
Who will get the chance to become the next moderator is decided by the current staff team and is a lengthy process with many criteria that need to be met.
